Your eyes light up at the sight of us.
Your ears perk up at the mention of our name.
We stop heavenly traffic when we pass you by, God.
We are Eye-Catchers.
By no means is the universe framed around us, for “from Him and through Him and to Him are all things” (Romans 11:36). The glory of God cannot be emphasized enough. But somehow, women, we have missed the heartbeat of it all. Somewhere along the way we have missed the absolute devotion and adoration God has for his creation, and specifically, for his daughters. For us.
It is apparent in our slumped shoulders, our self-deprecating words, our downcast eyes.
Also in the woman with a lofty gaze, an aire of pride and self-satisfaction. She, too, has missed it.
When the Maker of the Universe, Keeper of the Stars [Isaiah 40:26] calls you by name, it humbles you and sinks you to the depths of the earth in wonder, joy, and amazement.
Sit there for awhile.
It is true.
You are an Eye-Catcher.
You are “the apple of His eye” [Zechariah 2:8].
This month, we launch Sky City as a community resource for life-exchange, truth, healing, and enjoyment. And if we are to advance together as fully alive women of Christ, we have to start here. If we don’t believe – no, if we aren’t convinced down to our very marrow — that we are loved, that we are valued, precious, and uniquely treasured by God, we will never be women bursting with life. Apart from this, all human efforts will be lost on us, lost on the One who doesn’t know that she puts a Twinkle in the Eye of God.
Point to Ponder: Have we lost the sparkle in our eyes that comes from seeing His?
